Wiltshire - Angus MacPherson

  • Police and Crime Commissioner

My name is Angus and in November 2012 I was elected as your first Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire.

I would love to be given the chance to be given the chance to serve you for another four years because I beleive that I have a wide experience of policing and the criminal justice system. I was a lead member on the old Wiltshire Police Authority and for 20 years I served as a magistrate in Swindon and was a senior chairman in the adult court. I was a long-serving member of the policy committee and led several local consultations on sentencing guidelines.

My close involvement with two charities working to help the homeless in Swindon, and my work in the courts, has given me insights into drug and alcohol issues and the need to tackle the cycle of re-offending.

I am also currently a governor of Dauntsey’s School and a trustee of the Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation.

I am married to Sara Jane and live near Swindon. We have two grown-up children, James and Charlotte, and two boxer dogs, Tilly and Lola.
