My name is Dr Louise Brown and I am the Welsh Conservative candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent.
I have the necessary skills to be an effective PCC. With a strong background in policing, law and public service, having been a Councillor, Solicitor and Police Advisor, I will bring experience to the role. I have a doctorate in Police Training from the University of Wales, Cardiff. I have been a member of the Cheshire police and crime panel, Borough Councillor and Deputy Cabinet Member.
I will also be a strong local champion for the people of Gwent. I currently live in Chepstow in Monmouthshire and I love the local area.
Over the next four years I want to make a difference.
If elected I will work hard for the people of Gwent to ensure that their concerns are acted upon and that local policing needs are met. I want to be a proactive PCC, looking for new and innovative solutions that will result in real change and improvement. And I also believe that the needs of the victim deserve to be at the heart of the system, particularly the most vulnerable.
With your support in May, I will work with the police, in partnership with other agencies, to prevent crime and re-offending, to tackle anti-social behaviour, drugs and alcohol abuse, and will work hard to ensure that the people of Gwent feel safer on the streets and in their homes.
